The Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Index for October, released by Sentix GmbH on October 5, 2026, came in at 2.7 points, down from 5.1 points in September. The September reading had been the highest level in more than four years, making October's result a pullback from that recent peak.

Breaking down the components, the current situation sub-index held steady at -3.3 points, while the expectations index fell sharply by 5 points to 8.8 from 13.8 the previous month. Sentix attributed the headline decline to a "noticeable setback" in the expectations component. In Germany, the headline index slipped to -3.6 from -2.8 and the expectations sub-index declined to 8.0 from 12.3, though Germany's current situation index rose for the fourth consecutive month to -14.5, its best reading since May 2023. The survey was conducted between October 1 and October 3 and drew responses from 1,030 investors, including 218 institutional investors.

2026-09

The Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Index, released by Sentix on September 1, 2026, fell sharply to -9.2 points from 0.9 points in August, slipping back into negative territory and snapping a four-month streak of improvement.

Breaking down the components, the Current Situation Index deteriorated to -18.8 from -13.0 in the prior month, while the Expectations Index declined steeply to 0.8 from 6.0. Sentix noted that there is little sign of an autumn recovery, and that the tariff deal with the United States is likely to increase pressure on export-oriented industries going forward.

2026-08(released 2026-08-02)

The Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Index rose to 0.9 points in August 2026, turning positive from the previous month's reading of -3.1 points, according to data published by Sentix on August 10. The index has now climbed for four consecutive months and reached its highest level since February 2026.

Sentix attributed the improvement primarily to a sharp recovery in investors' assessment of current conditions, with the current situation sub-index jumping to -8.0 points from -14.8 points in July. The expectations sub-index also edged higher, rising to 10.3 points from 9.3 points, with both gauges reaching their best levels since February.

Sentix noted that the confidence shock stemming from the Iran conflict appeared to have been at least partially absorbed. At the same time, the institute flagged that elevated energy costs and a still-subdued order book continue to weigh on the overall outlook.

Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Rises Sharply in July

The Sentix Investor Confidence Index for the Eurozone climbed to −3.1 points in July 2026, up from −13.4 points in June, according to data released by Sentix on July 7, 2026. The reading marked the third consecutive monthly improvement and the highest level in four months.

Breaking down the components, the economic expectations sub-index turned positive for the first time since March, reaching +9.3, while the current conditions sub-index also improved, rising to −14.8 from −20.0. Sentix noted that sentiment losses stemming from the Iran conflict are gradually being overcome. Germany was highlighted as a key driver, with a recently announced reform package credited for materially lifting expectations in Europe's largest economy.

Sentix further noted that the upturn is broad-based, with all economic regions showing improvement and the Eurozone and Germany — previously sources of downward pressure — now contributing to the recovery. The index nonetheless remains in negative territory, indicating that overall investor sentiment has yet to turn fully optimistic.

2026-06(released 2026-06-08)

The Sentix investor confidence index for the euro area, released on June 8, improved to -13.4 for June 2026 from -16.4 in May. It was the second consecutive monthly gain, following the sharp deterioration in March and April triggered by the Middle East war and the surge in crude oil prices.

Within the survey, the current situation index edged up to -20.0 from -21.5, while the expectations index rose markedly to -6.5 from -11.3. Sentix noted that the German economy continued to lag the global recovery, describing it as the "problem child" among major economic regions.
